Cache Valley Electric becomes ISO 9001:2000 Certified

Cache Valley Electric Company has recently completed the registration process and has met the requirements of ISO 9001:2000.

The registration process began in 2002 and culminated when Perry Johnson Registrars of Detroit audited the firm for a week and found that Cache Valley Electric met the rigid requirements demanded by the international organization.

ISO--the International Organization for Standardization--is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland and has a mandate to standardize the work practices of industries with attention to quality control, quality procedures and quality management.  These processes are intended to more efficiently provide products and services to customers while better controlling internal functions.

During the audit process Cache Valley Electric’s business practices were reviewed as were those of its current vendors. Special attention was given to feedback from customers and other contractors who conduct business with the company.

Cache Valley Electric personnel underwent extensive training and examination during the three year registration process. Those now certified by ISO 9001:2000 in the Salt Lake City office include the Electrical Construction, Teledata, Technical Services and Service and Specialty Projects divisions. The Cell Site and Design Build departments are also covered under the ISO umbrella.

The ISO 9000 registration is in effect for three years. During this period Cache Valley Electric must undergo internal audits and management reviews of current procedures while continually improving its workplace practices.    Stacy Atkinson, personnel manager at Cache Valley Electric, serves as the ISO management representative.
